As we turn the calendar to May, we celebrate one of the most inspiring and energizing aspects of Rotary—Youth Service Month. This is our moment to shine a spotlight on the next generation of leaders who are not just the future of Rotary… they are already making an impact today.
Across District 7910, I continue to be inspired by the incredible work of ourInteract Clubs, where high school students are discovering the power of service and leadership at an early age. These young leaders are organizing projects, supporting their communities, and showing us all what it truly means to liveService Above Self.
OurRotaract Clubsare equally impressive — bridging the gap between youth and professional service. They bring energy, innovation, and bold ideas to everything they do. Whether leading service initiatives, collaborating with Rotary clubs, or tackling real-world challenges, our Rotaractors are proving that leadership has no age requirement.
As we prepare for our 2026 Joint District Conference, we will once again take time to honor and remember the remarkable Rotarians that we have lost this past year—individuals who truly lived Service Above Self and left a lasting impact on their clubs, communities, and our district.
To ensure that every Rotarian is recognized with the dignity and respect that they deserve, we are asking each club to submit the names and information of any members who have passed away between May 2025 and today.
Please include the following for each submission:
Full name of the Rotarian
Club affiliation
Date of passing
A high-quality photo
A brief bio (2–4 sentences highlighting their service, leadership, and impact)
This tribute will be presented during a special Memorial Service at the District Conference on Martha’s Vineyard (May 15–17, 2026)—a meaningful moment of reflection as we come together to celebrate lives dedicated to making a difference.
This is more than a formality—it is our opportunity to tell their stories, to honor their legacy, and to ensure they are remembered as part of our shared Rotary journey.
Please join District 7910 and your fellow Rotarians as we install Penny Hamel as our District Governor for the Rotary year 2026-2027. In 2026, Rotary Club of Waltham turns 100 years old — a century of service, scholarships, and support for our community. We are marking this meaningful milestone with two events: In January, we hosted a fun night out for coworkers and neighbors who like music and friendly competition at our annual Music Bingo. It was a blast and raised over $10,000! We are following that up with a gala celebration to thank the community members who support Rotary and the organizations supported by our club.

Fundraising has the power to elevate—or derail—any mission. When done with strategy and vision, it fuels projects, accelerates impact, and transforms communities. And at the heart of every successful fundraising effort is strong, decisive leadership. Effective leaders build the strategies, systems, and partnerships that secure the resources needed to launch bold initiatives and sustain them for years. The stakes are real: every project shapes lives, strengthens communities, and drives lasting change.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day came early this year as the Rotary Club of Watertown hosted an ice cream bar for staff across all five schools. The Rotary members, with help from high school volunteers, served vanilla, chocolate, and dairy-free ice cream with a variety of toppings. Rotary members also thanked staff for their dedication to Watertown students.
The Rotary Club of Concord partnered with the Concord Recreation Department to hold a Pinewood Derby for their after school program. Our club has worked with the Assabet Valley Boys and Girls Club in the past to hold this event and thought it would be fun to branch out. There are plans for more Pinewood Derby's in the future since they are so much fun for everyone, adults and children included!
The Natick Rotary Club recently celebrated one of its most meaningful traditions—awarding annual community grants to local nonprofits—at a special luncheon recognizing the organizations making a difference across the region.
This year, the Club distributed over $10,000 in grants to 13 area nonprofits. These funds, raised through events like the Brett Conaway Cup Golf Tournament, directly support programs that strengthen the fabric of the MetroWest community.
Public Image Primer: 3 Rotary Logos Do's and Don'ts
1. DO use your custom Club logo all the time. DG Johnny's Leominster Club's simplified logo is perfect. If you're not using a logo that looks similar, you can find your Club logo in this folder. If your club is using the "old" wheel/gear/cog that has yellow and blue, you gotta change it.
2. DON'T use the Rotary "Mark of Excellence" for your Club's program, event, or anything. Use your Club's custom logo for everything.
3. DON'T use the Presidential "Unite for Good" message for anything that will go to folks who are not Rotary members. That's why the banner at the top of this newsletter no longer has the logo below.
To conform to Rotary's brand guidelines, you'll have the easiest time if you never use that logo at , beautiful as it may be.
