In 2026, Rotary Club of Waltham turns 100 years old — a century of service, scholarships, and support for our community. We are marking this meaningful milestone with two events: In January, we hosted a fun night out for coworkers and neighbors who like music and friendly competition at our annual Music Bingo. It was a blast and raised over $10,000! We are following that up with a gala celebration to thank the community members who support Rotary and the organizations supported by our club.
Each year, Waltham Rotarians show up all over town. We deliver flowers at the local assisted living or rehabilitation communities during our Shower of Flowers. Members of the community often join us for our other service projects – we have worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, Birthday Wishes, and more. Over just the past 10 years, the Waltham Club has raised funds to make grants totaling more than $300,000. The Club has provided scholarships for Waltham High School students, leadership training opportunities for young people, and – for several years – dictionaries for every 3rd grader in Waltham, in both public and private schools.
Every third-grader's dictionary includes a plate with the Rotary Four Way Test – words we all know. In Waltham, we like to remind ourselves of the joy that comes from helping others and working alongside people you like and who care about you – so we also ask: Will it be fun? And it will be fun. Join us on May 14 at Gore Place for fun and fellowship and a celebration of 100 years – and a toast to 100 more.
