In case you missed it in the last newsletter, I’m excited to remind you of two wonderful ways our District is investing in our clubs and communities. The District is covering the $350 cost of a Peace Pole for every club in the District, and our District Trustees have also voted to use funds from the Special Purpose Fund to fully fund all approved District Grants this year, up to the maximum allowed amount of $3,000.
When Angie Fuoco of Rotary Club of World Disability Advocacy attended the Leadership Training Institute in January, she brought her Caption Companion speech-to-text device along. This 5” x 8” tablet transforms spoken language into readable text for people who can’t hear well and those who need or prefer to read for understanding or to follow along.
The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury is raising $1,500 to fund a life-saving filtered water system for a bomb shelter in Ukraine, providing children and families with access to safe drinking water during times of crisis. Each system includes filters that last up to three years, delivering reliable, clean water when it is needed most.
After nearly two years of planning, Operation Fire Taco has reached a major milestone. Led by the Athol-Orange Area Rotary Club in partnership with firefighter Cesar Uribide and local firefighters, the project recently secured a Rescue One pumper fire engine from the Town of Phillipston. This September, the truck will begin its journey to Ayutla, Jalisco, Mexico, where it will strengthen emergency services and firefighter safety for the community.

The Wachusett Area Rotary Club is dedicating our signature event and main fundraiser, our annual golf tournament, to the memory of longtime Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow Rick Mansfield, who passed away suddenly this past June. The Franklin Rotary Club & New England Chapel are “Revving Up” for their 10th Annual Car Show, slated for October 3, 2026 from 9:30 AM – 1PM, located at the New England Chapel, 300 Central Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
If you are within driving distance to Shrewsbury and you have some hard to dispose of junk, this event is for you! Support our club while getting rid of unwanted metals and electronics. We accept everything from broken appliances to the treadmill that is collecting dust and taking up space. From batteries to laptops, old pots and pans to outdated chargers, if it is made of metal or has a cord, we likely take it. Keep this stuff out of the landfill and help our club raise money for our scholarship program.
Leominster Rotaries Club collected new back packs for foster children at no cost to them. Instead of packing their belongings into a black plastic bag, they now can be proud to have a personal back back for their belongings.
The Rotary Club of Westborough, in collaboration with the Ekal Vidyalaya Boston Chapter, successfully completed a Backpack and School Supply Drive in support of the Town of Westborough’s Youth and Family Services. This year’s initiative benefited 138 families in need and approximately 252 students in the Westborough Public Schools community. The backpacks were made possible through the generous support of a Rotary International District Grant. School-supply collections were held at several locations throughout Westborough.
Public Image Primer: 3 Rotary Logos Do's and Don'ts
1. DO use your custom Club logo all the time. DG Johnny's Leominster Club's simplified logo is perfect. If you're not using a logo that looks similar, you can find your Club logo in this folder. If your club is using the "old" wheel/gear/cog that has yellow and blue, you gotta change it.
2. DON'T use the Rotary "Mark of Excellence" for your Club's program, event, or anything. Use your Club's custom logo for everything.
3. DON'T use the Presidential "Unite for Good" message for anything that will go to folks who are not Rotary members. That's why the banner at the top of this newsletter no longer has the logo below.
To conform to Rotary's brand guidelines, you'll have the easiest time if you never use that logo at , beautiful as it may be.
