Foundation Update: Per-capita Foundation contributions in '16-'17

By Sanjay Deshpande

One of the three eligibility criteria for participation in Foundation Grants in the next Rotary Year (2016-2017), which begins this July 1, is per-capita contribution to The Rotary Foundation of at least $100 in Rotary year '15'16. Click here, or on the image below, to view the Foundation contributions of the 51 clubs in District 7910 as of this April 29.

Please note that:
  1. Of the 51 clubs, 23 have met the per-capita threshold of $100 in Foundation contributions in '16-17. The rest have until this June 30 to achieve the threshold and qualify for grants
  2. Nine clubs have per-capita contributions between $51 and $98, of which five clubs, between $85 and $98, are very likely to achieve the threshold of $100
  3. The remaining 19 clubs need to step up their Foundation giving in May and June to qualify for participation in Foundation Grants from their current level, which ranges between $0 and $48.
The total district-wide Foundation contributions for the current Rotary year (through April 29) are $210,318.  In '14-'15, the full-year contributions total for our district was $252,861. If we are to exceed last year’s contribution level by 5 percent, the total giving during the May and June must be greater than $55,000.  Last year, the District Foundation Fundraising Subcommittee led by then-District Governor Nominee Designate Karin Gaffney (who is now district governor-nominee)  had great success securing Foundation contributions of $80,000 during May and June.

This year’s Fundraising Subcommittee, led by current DGND Steve Sager, has their work cut out! Get going, team.
