Foundation Notes: Many Rotarians In D7910 Can Be Very Proud

By Ralph Hammond

Rotary International links us all together in doing “service above self” to mankind. Part of our service is the funding that we provide for our special community-service projects.

Rotarians all over the world help in their contributions. District 7910 had an average donation of $133 per member last year. As a result, our district was: No. 2 in our Zone 32; No. 133 in the world; and in the top 25 percent worldwide

Clubs are listed by comparison with the closest district in the world, including the position of that district. (Click here to view Positions on the World Stage). Using that number, you can somewhat determine your club's contribution position on a global scale. You can also determine your club's percentage placement on a global scale.

Many Rotarians in D7910 can be very proud. The clubs chosen are most-noted ones in their area of their district. Perhaps there is a way to find a neighboring club with the exact per-member average as your club.

You can also partly determine your individual contribution on the global scale as well. For example, the Rotary Club of Wachusett Area, with an average member contribution of $405 to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund and SHARE, is in t
he global position of No. 4, in the top 1 percent globally; and in the range of the Hong Kong district

For this current Rotary year of 2015-2016, clubs may want to choose a part of the world as their Annual Fund and SHARE contribution goal. Clubs may also choose a global position to achieve in the year ahead.

Most importantly, we can see that all parts of the world are doing something to enable Rotary service projects to continue.
