How can we build peace in a world marked by conflict, violence, and the growing threat of nuclear war? Join us for a community teach-in exploring the challenges of peacebuilding and the practical steps individuals and communities can take to promote a more peaceful world.
Our featured speakers include Rotarian Dr. Ira Helfand, a physician and co-founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility, who will address the heightened threat of nuclear war; and Suheir Freitikh, a Rotary Peace Fellow, who will share perspectives on organizing and bearing witness in a conflict zone. Bernard Greene, a Brookline Rotarian, will moderate the discussion.
The program offers an opportunity to learn from people working on peace and conflict resolution, reflect on the challenges facing communities around the world, and consider how we can contribute to a more peaceful future.
The event is sponsored by Rotary District 7910, the Rotary Metro Boston Workgroup for Peace & Conflict Resolution, and the Rotary Clubs of Brookline, Cambridge, and Needham, with co-sponsor Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility.
