Interact Clubs are an important branch of the greater Rotary youth programs that invite students between ages 12 and 18 to get important chances to develop leadership skills while also focusing on the Rotary credo of “Service-Above-Self.” In fact, many high schools across the United States and the world have their own chapters of Interact Clubs that allows students enrolled in those schools to work together and be a part of many different community service programs and initiatives with their sponsoring Rotary Club.Many of the District's Interact Clubs either dissolved entirely during Covid or became very small. However, some Interact clubs are rebuilding their membership and supporting their communities any way they can.
Raissa Santana, a senior at the Advanced Math & Science Academy in Marlborough wants to build upon the momentum that she has seen this school year. She would like to meet up with all the presidents of the Interact Clubs in the District via Zoom. She hopes to establish a District Interact Council that can establish a plan to work together on at least one community service project. She also would like to create an "Interact Cafe" where different schools could host workshops on various topics like: Creating the perfect service project; How to increase membership; and How to partner with your sponsoring Rotary club.
