Members of the Blackstone Valley Rotary showed up to support and cheer on athletes competing in the Unibank Greenway Challenge as they finished this multi-sport event to raise funds for the Whitin Community Center (where the Club meets).

Members lined the gravel road where the bike racers finished their portion of the 8-segment race, ensuring that no pedestrians were in the way and that racers were aware of course obstacles (like turns and loose gravel that could be hazardous). We also clapped and cheered to encourage them to tag the next competitor, who would complete the last leg of the race (kayaking on the Wallum Lake in Douglas).
It was a fun day and members enjoyed being part of the event. Afterwards everyone enjoyed the cookout next to the lake on a gorgeous fall day.
