An Extremely Busy Week
By Jim Fusco
As promised here in the last newsletter, we had another beautiful week of weather. Last week, I visited Concord and Westwood, and have only Bedford to go.
Although I only had two visits last week, I was extremely busy because my wife, Karen Fusco, along with District Governors-Elect Pat and Skip Doyle and District Governor Nominee Karin Gaffney attended the Zone 24/32 Institute event in Providence along with more than 400 other Rotarians from Russia, Canada, France, Bermuda, New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
I was so proud of our district because Foundation Chair Roy Balfour and PR Chair Laura Spear were panelist at breakout sessions and Past District Governor Carol Toomey presented at the Foundation session. In addition, David Frasier (Worcester), Sanjay Deshpande (Wachusett Area), Bill Domings (Westborough) and Satya Mitra (Worcester) attended special programs in Membership and Foundation.
Last Monday, I visited the Leominster club and inducted Craig Berry. I then traveled to Oak Hill Country Club in nearby Fitchburg to attend the Wachusett Area Golf Tournament. What a great day and what a successful event! Last Thursday, during my visit to Concord, I inducted Kat Edwards.
My only disappointments last week were two-fold. I was unable to find time to attend the Johnny Appleseed Festival last Saturday in Leominster to work with my Rotary Club of Montachusett Area at our Fried Dough booth. And, I was unable to march with the Leominster club in Leominster’s 250th Anniversary parade on Sunday.
Nominations for District Leadership Positions:  I know that I have mentioned this in the past two newsletters but it is extremely important, so I will do so again. Nominations are due by this October 15 for district leadership positions. If you or someone in your club is a past president and is interested in being considered for a district leadership position, submit your nomination forms to Nomination Committee Chair Carol Toomey at To download the forms, click here.
2015-2016 District 7910 Directory: Copies have now been delivered to most of the club presidents and district leaders. If you have not received your latest District Directory, please let me know. The Directory is now posted on the district website (member login is required). To access it, click here.
D7910 Planning Worksheet 2015-2016: Many club presidents have told me that they are now using the “D-7910 Planning Worksheet 2015-2016” to track progress. Thank you! I encourage all presidents to do the same. Reporting monthly to your clubs on their Planning Worksheet progress is instrumental to having a great yearThe Planning Worksheet can be downloaded from the District website. To do so, click here.
Keep up the great work in bringing new members! Thank you for being part of a great organization and for being a "Gift to the World."
We will have a great year!
