Our District will have $46,436 in District Designated Funds (DDF) available as of this Friday, July 1 – the start of the ’16-’17 Rotary year - in addition to $15,000 available from past years, to support Global Grant projects led or supported by clubs in our District. As in the past, District 7910 will match the cash contribution from clubs in our District up to $10,000.
A summary of the four proposals received so far is shown in Table 1.

These four proposals are seeking DDF grants totaling $35,500. That leaves $10,936 available for additional Global Grant proposals during ‘16-17 – presuming that all four of those proposals are approved.
The District Grants Subcommittee, chaired by Jorge Yarzebski, will be reviewing these proposals on Wednesday, July 6.
Four previously approved Global Grant proposals are in the application stage, shown in Table 2.

The Bedford and Brookline projects were approved in ‘14-‘15 to proceed to the Application stage, while the Neponset Valley Sunrise and Worcester projects received the go-ahead in ‘15-‘16. All these clubs have been advised that they must get their applications authorized before July 1, 2017. Otherwise, they would be cancelled and, should they still want to proceed with their projects, would have to start by resubmitting a proposal. In addition, they would have to convince the Grants Subcommittee that the hurdles that prevented the earlier application from going through have been either removed or overcome.
The eight projects in the two tables, above, will be funded as they are approved by The Rotary Foundation staff. It is conceivable that the ‘16-‘17 proposals in Table 1 will be approved before those in Table 2. It is also conceivable that we will run out of DDF should all these projects be approved by the Foundation. In that event, the projects will be funded in the next Rotary year, provided the project sponsors are in a position to wait until additional DDF becomes available.
