It's Official! A New Era of Rotary is Coming!

Two Districts. One Incredible Future. Welcome to District 7960!

Get ready, Rotarians — because something BIG is happening in Massachusetts and Rhode Island!

We are thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news! Rotary International has officially approved our new district number, District 7960, and confirmed July 1, 2029, as the effective date for the creation of our new district! That's right! Districts 7910 and 7950 are coming together to create something NEW — and we couldn't be more excited about what lies ahead!

This isn't just a new district number. It's the beginning of a bold new chapter in our Rotary story, filled with new friendships, stronger partnerships, exciting opportunities, and the potential to make an even GREATER impact in the communities we serve. One District. Countless Possibilities!

Imagine the possibilities when we bring together the incredible Rotarians, clubs, ideas, talents, and traditions of two outstanding districts! Our new Rotary District 7960 will stretch across Central and MetroWest Massachusetts, Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, the Islands, and Rhode Island, connecting communities and Rotarians across an extraordinary region. From bustling cities to charming small towns, from the heart of Massachusetts to the beautiful shores of Cape Cod, the Islands, and Rhode Island, we are building a district filled with passionate People of Action who are ready to do what Rotarians do best — make a difference!

And just think of the opportunities ahead! More connections between clubs. More fellowship opportunities. New partnerships for service projects. Fresh ideas, expanded resources, stronger leadership development, and the ability to tackle challenges together that we might never have imagined taking on individually. The possibilities are truly endless! Creating Something NEW — Together! Over the past several months, leadership teams from Districts 7910 and 7950 have been working collaboratively behind the scenes to lay the groundwork for this exciting transition.

Rotary Youth Exchange Changes Lives

It is always so exciting to see how Rotary Youth Exchange impacts lives. In 2017-18, Milford Rotary Club sponsored a student from France -- Auriane Veyveinc. Auriane attended Hopedale High School, had a successful exchange, and returned to France in June 2018. I met Auriane during her time in Massachusetts. Fast-forward to August 2026. I was visiting France and was able to catch up over dinner.  Since her exchange, Auriane has finished college, added Spanish to her language repertoire, and is almost finished with a Master of Science degree in Purchasing & Global Supply Chain Management.

Blackstone Valley Rotary again teamed up with the Whitin Community Center (WCC) to provide and prepare a meal for over 160 local residents at the Peace of Bread Community Kitchen in Northbridge.

We like to make something different when its our turn so our menu was Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo with garlic bread and salad - a real treat!

We couldn't have done it without a generous grant from District 7910, an amazing donation from Grille 122 in Whitinsville, the support of WCC Director of Community Outreach, Jenn Castro, and of course our wonderful members and community volunteers!

Public Image Primer: 3 Rotary Logos Do's and Don'ts

1. DO use your custom Club logo all the time. DG Penny's Westford Club's simplified logo is perfect. If you're not using a logo that looks similar, you can find your Club logo in this folder. If your club is using the "old" wheel/gear/cog that has yellow and blue, you gotta change it.

2. DO NOT use the Rotary "Mark of Excellence" for your Club's program, event, or anything. Use your Club's custom logo for everything.

3. DO NOT use the Presidential "Create Lasting Impact" message for anything that will go to folks who are not Rotary members. That's why the banner at the top of this newsletter no longer has the logo below.

To conform to Rotary's brand guidelines, you'll have the easiest time if you never use that logo, beautiful as it may be.
