Tyngsboro-Dunstable is the Top Per-Capita Contributing Club
The Rotary Foundation is supported by contributions from Rotarians all around the world. During the Rotary year 2016-17 when D7910 had Pat and Skip Doyle as Co-DGs,, the District’s total giving was $274,514 which included $205,630 to Annual Fund-SHARE, $6,298 to other Annual Fund Designations, $39,136 to PolioPlus, $18,450 to approved global grants and $5,000 to the Endowment Fund.
Foundation Banner Recognition Report
Congratulations to the Tyngsboro-Dunstable Club for topping the Foundation Banner Recognition lists in both per capita contributions categories.
This fiscal year we will have $45,000, the most money ever available for District grants. Our goal is to have all clubs apply for a grant. To be qualified to apply clubs must do four simply tasks.
I'm very excited to serve as the 2017-2018 Youth Service Chair for our District. Working with Youth has been my life long inspiration and my true passion! I'm positive that we all can share it to make a difference in our communities and the world!
In 2010 New Generations (renamed Youth Service in 2013) was added as the Fifth avenue of service of Rotary, joining the other Four avenues as the foundation of club activity. Youth Service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities as Rotaract, Interact, RYLA, service projects, and creating international understanding with Rotary Youth Exchange.
Only two weeks since the installation of Karin Gaffney as District Governor for 2017-18 it is time to think about nominations for District Governor 2020-21. At the business meeting held at our District Conference in Providence Rhode Island in April our membership passed a resolution to revise the structure of our nominating committee. The new structure as passed is as follows.
2.01 The District shall have a Nominating Committee consisting of three active Past District Governors, three club representative Rotarians, the sitting District Governor, the District Governor Elect and the immediate Past District Governor. The immediate Past District Governor shall be the chair. The three club representative Rotarians shall serve a term of 1 year.
The Rotary Club of Concord will be raising money and awareness for Shelter Box, a Rotary partner 501c3 that provides emergency housing to those displaced by natural disaster or conflict. Concord Rotarians will be setting up and displaying a Shelter Box at multiple town events to answer questions about this life saving initiative.
District 7910 strives to create and maintain a safe environment for all youth who participate in Rotary activities. To the best of their ability, Rotarians, Rotarians’ spouses and partners, and other volunteers must safeguard the children ad young people they come into contact with and protect them from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
