Westborough Rotary Hosts 2 Community events in October
Westborough Rotary Hosts Two Community Events in October - 1774 Westborough Militia Training Day & Third Annual Red, White and BOO
 
On October 14, reenactors portraying the Westborough militia will perform the Manual of Arms as they practice the art of military exercise from 1774. Musket firing demonstrations will be performed throughout the day; a colonial market day will be set up to show a variety of colonial trades and crafts; and Westborough's own Rev. Ebenezer Parkman will harangue and inform the crowds about Britain’s Intolerable Acts which led to the Revolutionary War.

The Worcester Railers take the ice for the first time at the DCU Center against the Manchester Monarchs!

We are proud to be part of the inaugural game for the Worcester Railers and invite you to join in on the fun!

The Worcester Railers are holding over 200 seats in section 106 for D7910. Tickets are just $20.00 each and includes a Worcester Railers hat. The puck drops at 7PM. This is going to be an exciting game!

Who mandated that every club meeting needs to include a speaker and a meal?  And that community service can only be done outside club meetings?  That “rule” probably never existed anyway, and with the flexibility permitted in the last Council on Legislation, many clubs are experimenting with different models.

Update on Rotary Hurricane Relief Funds and Efforts Includes new information as of September 30, 2017
Here is a summary of the three Rotary Foundation Donor-Advised Funds that will provide Hurricane relief from the recent storms. 
 
Puerto Rico (Hurricane Maria), a new fund has been set up:

Concord Rotarians have a super successful day raising money for Shelter Box to help hurricane survivors
Saturday 9-30, Concord Rotarians hearts sank as misty cold descended upon Verrill Farm, they rose again as wave after wave of hearty families arrived to celebrate Oktoberfest, warming up with lively music, craft beer, games, and food.  Enthusiasm for the Shelter Box, recipient of the proceeds, ran high. Final numbers are not in yet, but the Rotary Club of Concord is confident that those whose homes have been destroyed by recent hurricanes will benefit greatly from Oktoberfest 2017.
