Each year, Rotary members around the world come together on World Polio Day, October 24th, to raise awareness and support Rotary’s promise to end polio for good. This day is not only a chance to highlight Rotary’s global impact but also an opportunity for every club and member to take action locally.
Whether you host a small fundraiser, a community gathering, or collaborate with neighboring clubs, your efforts make a difference. Every dollar raised for PolioPlus is tripled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation 2:1 match, multiplying your impact in the fight to eradicate polio.
This year, our district has set a bold goal: to welcome 100 PolioPlus Society Members, each committing to an annual gift of $100. Becoming a PolioPlus Society member is a simple yet powerful way to sustain Rotary’s mission and move us closer to a polio-free world.
We also want to showcase the creativity and commitment of our clubs! Share your World Polio Day events so we can highlight them across the district.
For example:
- Montachusett Area Rotary Club hosted a Million Dollar Meal on August 22.
- Weston & Wayland Rotary Club is teaming up Waltham and Billerica Clubs for Pints for Polio on October 23rd!
If your club would like to join in an existing event or host your own, please let us know so we can spread the word!
Together, our combined efforts will amplify awareness, raise critical funds, and inspire others to join in Rotary’s mission to end polio forever.
