Where Did The Summer Go?
DG Steve's Update on District Happenings

It is hard to believe the summer is near its end and September is around the corner.  Clubs around the district are busy planning service projects, fundraisers, and social events to engage their members.  The committees and subcommittees of District 7910 are also working hard to help clubs be a success and engage not only their members, but their communities as well.

Some of the events coming up are:

Foundation Committee Meeting.  This Wednesday, August 29, our District Foundation Chair, Sanjay Deshpande is organizing the quarterly Rotary Foundation meeting.  Learn about the District Grant Allocation; share your grant funded projects, learn about the latest in our efforts to eradicate polio; get and update on our Global Grant Scholars funded by our district endowment, and more.  Invitations went to all club Foundation chairs, but all are welcome to attend. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER for Wednesday's meeting.

New Member Welcome.  Membership Chair Ron Bott has been working hard to create a New Member Welcome event on September 5.  The event is designed to engage new members and provide a fun overview of the wide world of Rotary.   Invitations have already gone out to anyone who joined Rotary within the past 2 years, andprospective members who you have told us about. Our neighboring district had great success with this program, and they are helping us to launch the same in our District!

Membership Committee Meeting.  In addition to the new member welcome event, Ron's committee is also putting together the first quarterly meeting of the membership committee for this year on September 12.  Retaining members is a concern for most clubs, as is finding a way to engage in service while balancing the many demands of daily life.  Invitations are extended to all club membership chairs, but all are welcome to attend.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

Interact Leaders Kickoff.  Does your club host an Interact Club?  September 15 we are holding a kickoff for interact leaders.  Our teen leaders will meet their peers from around the district, exchange ideas, learn how to lead and have fun.  Our Interact Chair, Bob Anthony, has a fun morning planned.  Please contact Bob for more information.

The British are Coming!  September 25 our Bandey-Heffler Friendship Exchange friends from England arrive! Look for them around the District!

Enjoy the rest of the summer!
