In a true sense of patriotic pride, 50 American flags flew at the Westwood Senior Center, each honoring a hero as part of the Rotary Club of Westwood's annual Flags For Heroes campaign.
This year's event was celebrated with a special ceremony on Saturday, September 20, as each flag's honoree was announced by Westwood Rotary member Mike Walsh.
The Flags For Heroes campaign was introduced five years ago and has become a staple in the Westwood community. Working together with the Westwood Council on Aging and the Westwood Public Works Department, the Rotary Club of Westwood provides this opportunity for residents to sponsor a flag, honoring a hero in their life.

The end result is a rousing display of red, white and blue, displayed each year in early September, in conjunction with the country's annual remembrance of those we lost on September 11, 2001 and Westwood's annual ""Westwood Day"" celebrations.
