For the second year, Rotary District 7910 is preparing to provide meal service for a week to veterans at the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) located near Government Center in Boston.

The Week of Rotary covers 10 meal service shifts spread out between Monday May 27th and May 31st in honor of Memorial Day.  Fifteen Rotary clubs participated in this program last year and found great meaning and inspiration in this service opportunity. By proudly partnering with NECHV, clubs are helping to ensure that veterans of every era have the resources they need to live with dignity and independence.
Each shift allows for a maximum of 12 volunteers.  – 10 people for serving meals and providing wait-staff support in the dining hall and 2 people designated for social engagement – playing games, cards or simply chatting with residents. Each Rotary club is invited to reserve a shift specifically for its members or you can work in teams with another club. Your club can also sponsor a meal at NECHV instead of or in addition to service a meal.

Please coordinate with Karin Gaffney (click karinmgaffney@gmail.com to send an email) – shifts are available on a first come, first served basis, and we expect the shifts to be reserved very quickly – so act soon! Once your club has reserved a shift, we will follow up with specific details including arrival time, attire and parking information. Our contact at NECVH is CJ Beck at Charles.becka@nechv.org.

The following shifts remain available for the Week of Rotary:

LUNCHES (11:30am – 12:30pm)
Monday May 27th
Tuesday May 28th
Friday May 31st

DINNER (4:00pm – 5:00pm)
Monday May 27th
Thursday May 30th
Friday May 31st

This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the men and women who have served our country. This is also a terrific chance to invite your members for hands-on service.
