When the leaves start to turn The Rotary club of Lowell hosts a dance contest and buffet lunch for seniors and individuals in assisted living and local nursing homes annually in the Merrimack Valley. The club has community service event where seniors get to dance, eat and have fun on a fall afternoon. Everyone gets so excited each year when the fliers go out to the local senior centers and nursing homes.

Now in its 23rd year, it has over 300 attendees. With the help from the Nursing students and Rotarians, they spend an early afternoon dancing and enjoying a nice meal. There are even dance contests and door prizes. The club has been holding this event for so long It has become a staple in the senior’s annual calendar. They look forward to it every year and so do we!

Our chairwoman emeritus Doris Williams (90 years old) sold over $1000 in tickets this year! Now there is a true Rotarian! The event has a special place in our club’s heart and we hope it continues for 20 more years!
