Over the last two weeks, I’ve reached the halfway mark in my official club visits, and I continue to be inspired by Rotarians of every generation.
From the incredible young leaders of the BU Rotaract Club, who give me so much hope for Rotary's future, to reconnecting with longtime friends throughout the District, every visit reminds me that Rotary is truly about people—people coming together, building relationships, and finding ways to make a difference.
I also had the honor of participating in solemn ceremonies commemorating September 11th and attending the first-ever Veterans Appreciation Dinner hosted by the Fitchburg and Fitchburg East Rotary Clubs. Both were powerful reminders of the importance of honoring service, sacrifice, and those who dedicate themselves to something greater than themselves.
Rotary also continues to remind me that our impact extends far beyond the boundaries of our own clubs and districts. I had the opportunity to collaborate across districts by volunteering alongside the North Conway Rotary Club at the annual Believe in Books fundraiser. It was another wonderful example of what happens when Rotarians come together with a shared purpose.
As I write this, I’m in Cancun attending our annual fall Zone event. Gatherings like this reinforce something I see everywhere I go in Rotary: we are stronger together.
Every club visit, every service project, every friendship, and every opportunity to collaborate reminds me that what we do matters. When we bring our ideas, our energy, and our hearts together in service, we truly can make our communities—and our world—a better place.
