For Natick Rotary, Service Above Self can also mean showing up, having fun and connecting with our community. At this year’s Natick Days, we joined local organizations throughout downtown for a day filled with families, food and fun. Our mini trampolines, fishing “pond” and special guest Latte, the ball python, were a big hit with kids and gave us plenty of opportunities to introduce families to Rotary.
Natick Days is a wonderful celebration of the organizations, businesses and volunteers that help make Natick such a vibrant community. For Rotary, it’s also a chance to step outside our regular meetings and interact with the people we serve throughout the year.
Throughout the day, Rotarians welcomed families to our booth, talked with parents and kids about what Rotary does in Natick, and watched as children took turns bouncing, fishing and meeting Latte. There were plenty of smiles — and a few surprised expressions when visitors discovered that our special guest was a live snake!
Events like Natick Days remind us that community service comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s awarding grants, supporting Natick schools or organizing a fundraiser for local nonprofits. And sometimes it’s simply being present in the community, meeting our neighbors and helping create a fun day for local families.
We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by to say hello and spend a little time with us. Natick Rotary is proud to be part of this community — and we’ll see you at Natick Days next year!
