If you or others have attended Rotary (Learning!) Leadership Institute, you know the impact of this training program. RLI graduates often say that going through the program is what helped connect the dots for them and made them feel like a Rotarian. In my mind, RLI is the best Rotary training around!

The next RLI in our region will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Courtyard Marriott Marlborough in Marlborough. Registration is now openClick here to get more information, and to register. All the details on RLI as well as how to register are at that link. This year's tuition is $110, which includes breakfast, lunch and the course materials.

While I hope to average two attendees from each of our 50 clubs, please commit to sending at least one person. Keep in mind the benefit to your club:  Well-informed Rotarians will more easily see how Rotary fulfills their passions, causing them to become more engaged and impactful to your club. Everyone benefits!

RLI offers a leadership development program in three full-day sessions (Parts I, II and III), which are usually taken over the course a several months to a year or so. The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowledge, and to develop leadership skills. It's also a great networking opportunity!.

Given that the retention rate of those who graduate from the RLI is more than double that of non-attendees, be sure that your Club encourages as many attendees as possible. You will not regret it, as the experience is always great and motivating.

Some examples of course sessions include:

  • Introduction to Leadership
  • Creating Service Projects
  • Effective Committees
  • Membership Development
  • International Service
  • Problems of Leadership
  • Creative Service
  • Written Communications
  • Motivating Rotarians and Effecting Change

The Graduate program offers courses in subjects such as:

  • Motivating Rotarians
  • Why people volunteer
  • Council of Legislation
