Rotary Club of Framingham’s Dick Manelis is leading a team of Rotarians and community volunteers on a trip to Guatemala to install clean water filtration systems to the villages on Lake Atitlan who need it most.

On day #1, the team assembled the water purification units and proceeded to the individual homes where they installed, demonstrated and taught.

Then they handed out gifts of various items.  The stuffed animals, many courtesy of the Needham Club were a big hit with the kids.  So were some rubber ducks courtesy of the Framingham Club.

Tomorrow they will learn how and what to teach re basic sanitation and conduct mini-seminars in different locations.  On Thursday, the team will attend a meeting with the local Rotary club to discuss the condition of the lake.
