The Rotaract Club of Boston University has continued to grow throughout the 2025–2026 school year, strengthening leadership and expanding its impact across campus and the Boston community. Guided by our pillars of community service, professional development, and club unity, we have prioritized meaningful outreach and strengthened personal connections within Rotary and other Rotaract clubs.

Some of our service events this year include our Fall relaunching of our Thrive Well cooking class program from pre-pandemic years, addressing healthy food accessibility while fostering cultural exchange, in partnership with Women Thriving, a local organization empowering adult women throughout the Boston area. Thrive Well was also an opportunity to strengthen rotary connections through hosting members of Brookline Rotary and Marshwood Interact Club. Another service event included a Valentine’s Day letter-writing night, through the program Love for our Elders, providing a chance for students to learn about the lives and experiences of elderly Americans and to connect through handwritten letters. For our last event of the spring semester, our Rotaract Club also partook in the annual Charles River Clean up day, raising awareness for taking care of our environment in our own backyard. A few other events included blanket making with Rotary Club of Brookline for Project Linus, packing lunches with Brookline Thrives, volunteering with Friends of Boston’s Homeless, and hosting our Meal Train food packaging event.

Through connections with Rotary club members, the Rotaract Club of Boston University also prioritizes the professional development of club members to help our students to grow as pre-professionals while learning how to incorporate aspects of service into professional life.  Some of our events this semester to foster this growth include our Food for Thought speaker panel in collaboration with presenters  from Brookline Food Services, as well as Brookline Rotary and BU students serving to encourage education on health and food justice. We also had the opportunity to collaborate with Brookline Rotary to host Cookie Chats, a networking event held to promote professional development of students. Together, these efforts reflect our continued commitment to service, growth, and meaningful connection. Our third professional development event was a Headshot night where students could drop in to get a headshot taken, in addition to a resume workshop with a peer editing session. Throughout these events we prioritize club unity and social connection between students as it’s important that club members feel connected both to each other as well as the community. Our initiatives in this pillar started out with get to know you activities in the fall as we began the school year. These bonding initiatives developed into activities and bigger events such as our Ice Cream Social with donations from Crescent Ridge Dairy, as well as our Study Social thanks to donations from Raising Cane’s and Pop-up Bagels, encouraging both connections and academics.

The Rotaract Club of Boston University has been able to do so much through the support and mentorship of our faculty advisor Karen Jacobs, as well as the Brookline Rotary Club and other chapters. We are so grateful for the opportunity to create lasting impact, and the chance to learn from those around us. We look forward to future collaborations and connections, so please feel free to reach out to us at rotaract@bu.edu, and to check out our website and social media!
