We are happy to announce that Reese Gorini of the Ayer Rotary Club  has won the contest to represent District 7910 at the Bill and Gates Foundation in Seattle on World Polio Day, October 24, 2017.

A generous Rotarian donated a hotel and air package for two including two seats at the invitation-only reception for 200 honoring Bill and Melinda Gates. Polio Plus donations between July 1 and September 30 were eligible for the drawing. District Rotarians from twelve clubs contributed $8,225.

The Gates Foundation will match our donations 2:1, so a total of $24,675 will be contributed to the campaign to eradicate polio.

Rotary International’s goal this year for polio eradication is $50 million. The Gates Foundation’s 2:1 match will add another $100 million, for an annual total of $150 million. Our district’s share of the annual goal is $50,000, which will be matched 2:1 to net $150,000. Your gift to the PolioPlus Fund is eligible for Paul Harris Society recognition.
