Renee Gaudette
5 Years in Rotary
Paul Harris Fellow
Testimonial of Club President, Lilia Weisfeldt/Service Impact

In Renee’s work as the Executive Director of the Watertown Boys & Girls Club, she works tirelessly to provide a positive and safe environment for all kids in Watertown. The programing at the WBGC is constantly improving and challenging the kids and through Renee’s efforts a huge construction project is also underway to update the physical space. The services the WBGC provide are crucial for keeping Watertown’s youth engaged in positive activities and helping them become leaders among their peers. Without Renee’s dedication, the WBGC would not be as successful as it is today and hundreds of kids would not have the opportunity to become stronger community members.
Renee cares about and understands the kids she works with in a way that is truly unique and impactful. Renee always encourages the youth at the WBGC to participate in volunteer activities, whether that’s helping other children at the club or the Rotary club with outside activities. Under Renee’s leadership there has also been a large increase in the financial support the WBGC receives for everything from summer camp scholarships to the upcoming renovation of the club. Her passion for supporting the kids and making sure they have all that they need to become good citizens is what has made that fundraising possible!

Renee’s tireless efforts to improve the life experience of Watertown youth through their interaction with the WBGC has been amazing to me. I have had the pleasure of meeting several of the kids from WBGC and their level of maturity and focus on accomplishing clearly defined future goals is truly unique.

All of those kids cite their experience at the WBGC and their interactions with Renee as being the source of their confidence. Without Renee, the WBGC would continue to exist and positively impact the lives of Watertown youth but WITH Renee, the kids at the WBGC are becoming the kind of people that any Rotary club would be proud to call a Rotarian – Service Above Self.
