Well... somehow we've made it to the end of the Rotary year!
When I started this journey nearly three years ago as District Governor-Nominee, July 1, 2025 felt like it was a lifetime away. Yet here we are, and I honestly have no idea where the time went. They say time flies when you're having fun, and I can tell you this year absolutely flew by. Serving as your District Governor has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
Over the past year, I have traveled thousands of miles across our district, attended countless meetings, consumed more Rotary meals than my doctor would probably recommend, and had the privilege of meeting incredible people, hearing amazing stories, and seeing firsthand the impact Rotary has in every corner of District 7910.
I have visited clubs large and small. I have attended service projects, fundraisers, scholarship presentations, food packings, duck races, auctions, golf tournaments, and events that can only be described as "a Rotary idea that somehow worked." Everywhere I went, I saw dedicated people giving their time, talents, and resources to make their communities—and our world—a better place.
This year, our theme was Unite for Good, and you embraced it in every possible way.
I watched clubs collaborate like never before. I saw members step up when challenges arose. I witnessed partnerships being formed, friendships being strengthened, and lives being changed. Whether it was supporting local families, mentoring young leaders, providing clean water around the world, fighting disease, feeding those in need, or simply offering a helping hand, you showed what Rotary is all about.
You reminded me that Rotary isn't about meetings, reports, or district events. Rotary is about people. It's about relationships. It's about showing up and making a difference.
To our Assistant Governors: thank you for being the glue that helps keep everything together. You answered questions, solved problems, attended meetings, encouraged clubs, and somehow managed to make my job look easier than it actually was.
To our Club Presidents: thank you for your leadership, your patience, and your willingness to serve. I know firsthand that leading a Rotary club is no small task, and I appreciate everything you have done to keep your clubs moving forward.
To our District Chairs and Leadership Track: thank you for the countless hours spent behind the scenes. While many members may not see all that you do, I certainly do. This district accomplishes what it does because of your dedication and commitment.
And to every Rotarian in District 7910: thank you.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for your hard work.
Thank you for believing that we can leave our communities better than we found them.
Thank you for proving every day that Service Above Self is not just a slogan on a banner—it's a way of life.
There is one person who deserves special recognition. Throughout this entire journey, there has been someone who listened to every idea, every concern, every speech draft, every late-night Rotary conversation, and every crazy idea that somehow became a district project. My husband, Eric, has been my biggest supporter, my trusted sounding board, and my constant source of encouragement. Eric, thank you for standing beside me every step of the way. This year belongs to you as much as it does to me.
As much as I have loved serving as your District Governor, I am incredibly excited about what comes next. Penny Hamel is an outstanding leader, and I know she will guide District 7910 to even greater heights during the 2026–2027 Rotary year. Penny's passion for Rotary, commitment to service, and dedication to our members will undoubtedly help us continue growing, innovating, and making a difference.
As I hand over the governor's pin (and begin the important task of losing the weight I gained from attending approximately 200 Rotary meals this year, haha), I do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished together.
The friendships we've built, the lives we've touched, the communities we've strengthened, and the projects we've completed are all proof that Rotary remains one of the greatest forces for good in the world.
Thank you for trusting me with this responsibility.
Thank you for allowing me to represent this incredible district.
Thank you for making this year one that I will never forget.
And as we turn the page to a new Rotary year, let's continue the momentum we've built together.
Because when we Unite for Good, we truly do Create Lasting Impact.
