Our district's Environmental Committee has rebranded and repurposed itself. During this week's meeting, we decided we're done talking. So, our group chose a new name to better reflect our intent: Environmental Action Group.
We also decided to get working on supporting clubs regarding Rotary International's new - and seventh - Area of Focus: Supporting the Environment.
Step 1: Create a team that will put together a presentation, to take to clubs regarding: our group, the new Area of Focus; information on available resources; upcoming activities in other clubs or organizations; and, anything else someone thinks of, which may be of use to a club thinking about an environmental project. Are you ready to start making a difference? If so, please let EAG Co-Chair Elliott Rittenberg know, at elliott@rittenberg.com.
Step 2: Another area that needs some love is public image for both our work and the work of our compatriots. Anyone out there willing to: do an Environmental Corner series for the monthly District Newsletter; do social-media posts; etc.? If so, please be sure to attend our next meeting - or contact EAG Co-Chair Sue Peghiny, at suef0503@gmail.com.
Also, Ray Pfau, a member of the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, heads that Repair Cafe program, which is run in collaboration with Bolton Local. He'd love to speak to your club about running a Repair Cafe in your town or city. Ray may be reached at ray.pfau@alum.mit.edu.
Stuff is happening! Be sure to join us, as we work for a more sustainable world.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting. Thank you for all you do for Rotary and our communities.
