Barbara Robichaud has been a member of the Rotary Club of Athol-Orange for more than 30 years. She is a past president, a past secretary, a past board member-at-large, and currently sergeant arms.  She has always been the “go-to” Rotarian who volunteers for all fundraising and project committees.

This year, Barbara has been the “rock” behind her club's very stressed president during the unprecedented conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. While, many Rotarians have had work and home commitments and/or health issues that precluded them from volunteering this year, Barbara stepped up for her club's grant project and its online fundraiser

The grant was for building a home for in Athol for Habitat for Humanity. The Athol-Orange Club donated the windows and committed to to help. Barbara not only came to two build days, but she was also the liaison to coordinate the work dates. She loved the project so much that she joined the charitable, non-profit organization's Local Project Committee, which helped coordinate other aspects of the project, including choosing the family.

One of the Athol-Orange club's fundraisers was on online auction. Barbara called every club member, reminding them to donate. When needed, she picked up items. And she spent days organizing and writing the scripts for all the items. The auction, which was a combined event with the local YMCA, should net $3,000.

Barbara also joined most of the Athol-Orange club's weekly meeting via Zoom. In words and deeds, she reminded her fellow Rotarians of the meaning of Rotary.
