At DG Elliott Rittenberg’s installation event, PDG Dr. Victor Tom had the honor of presenting the most prestigious Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to Ralph Hammond, of the Rotary Club of Bedford, who has rendered exceptional service to the Foundation beyond the District level and for an extended period of time. This award is extremely competitive and only 50 Rotarians may receive this award each year, out of 1.4 million Rotarians worldwide.Photo: Ralph and Jean Hammond with Award
District 7910 has only had one prior DSA awardee, Alfred Horka, in 1979 from the Rotary Club of Westborough. For over a decade Ralph was known as “Mr. Grants” for all the help that he gave clubs to successfully execute projects with District and Global Grants. Personally, Ralph was responsible for a number of sustainable projects both locally and internationally, where he saw a need and then went into action.
