MIT Rotaract is a part of the college branch of the larger Rotary International service organization. Rotary’s motto is “Service above self,” and they take on large international projects like working to eradicate polio.

Joseph was involved in Rotary in high school, an experience which inspired him to revive the club at MIT as a freshman. The club has recently received official approval and will begin taking on projects serving the local community through the end of this semester and next semester. Their goal is to get into direct contact with low-income communities and provide advocacy services such as resume workshops as well as volunteering in shelters.
