Some Rotary Club of Blackstone Valley members recently helped the Rotary Club of Metro Providence clean up Gano Park, located in Providence's east side.
The original event was rained out. However, the club had the opportunity to get in there on May 1.

Metro Providence and Blackstone Valley members picked up 1,100 pounds of garbage. Yes, a scale was used to determine the weight!  The photo, right, shows only half of the debris that was pulled out of the waterfront area.

Gano Park includes ball fields, a soccer field, basketball courts, a community garden, a dog park, and a bike path. Built in the 1990s, the community park marks the first of its kind in a Providence park. To learn more, click here.
