The Athol-Orange Rotary Club brought big smiles and fresh inspiration to this year’s Petersham 4th of July Parade, proudly marching alongside neighbors and community members in a joyful celebration of independence and unity.

Rotarians debuted a brand-new float to celebrate 100 years as a club, which was designed and built by members to showcase the club’s deep-rooted commitment to “Service Above Self” and local engagement. The float was a colorful tribute to community, growth, and the power of planting seeds—both literally and figuratively.

As they marched, club members handed out packets of seeds to parade watchers along the route, encouraging folks to take a little piece of the day home with them and plant something in their own gardens. It was a gesture that reflected Rotary’s mission to cultivate positive change, one small act at a time.

The event was a vibrant reminder that community is something we build together, and the Athol-Orange Rotary is proud to keep growing that spirit year-round.
