I am pleased to announce that we far exceeded my District goal of $5,000 for TRF PolioPlus Fund by triple the amount ($15,000) and with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2:1 match, we raised $45,000 total. So to meet my obligations, I and two other 7910 Rotarians (District Membership Chair Tracy Gagnon (RC Fitchburg) and President Robert Boley (RC Westward) did the Polar Plunge in the snow and frigid waters of Boston Harbor on March 4. Tracy went way beyond the call of duty. We thank the Belle Isle and Parkway Rotary Clubs of District 7930 for hosting this extraordinary event with 10 people plunging and over 75 people enjoying the warmth of the fellowship.
