Treasurer's Report: District and RI Dues 101

By Lee Ouellette

For many current members and recently elected officers of our district's clubs, there is confusion about the dues structure. I will try to clarify the billing process.

District dues are $48 per member and are billed semi-annually on June 30 ($24) and December 31 ($24). In addition, the June invoice includes the Pre Presidents-Elect Training Session and PETS Assessment for each club of $25 and $275, respectively, for your president-elect to attend the required pre-PETS and PETS events.

Rotary International dues are $55 per member and are billed semi-annually on the same dates: June 30 ($27.50); and December 31 ($27.50). In addition, $6 per member for The Rotarian magazine ($12 per member annually) will appear on both of the semi-annual bills.  Each club is also billed on June 30 by RI for the following: Council on Legislation, $1.50; General Liability Insurance, $3.18; and Directors and Officers EPL Insurance, $0.40.

The total dues structure is therefore $120.08 per member per year (District $48 plus RI $72.08). In addition, don’t forget the Pre-PETS & PETS assessments of $300 per club per year.

I am responsible for billing and receiving district dues. Rotary International dues come directly from RI. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question as I would be more than happy to assist you. Invoices for the district were emailed on June 25. If your club has not received one, please let me know the correct e-mail address to send it to.
