Governor's Message

By Jim Fusco
It is hard to imagine that I have just completed my first month as your district governor. So, far the journey has been awesome. Thank you to the 21 clubs I have visited for the fantastic welcome. I was greeted at some clubs by some members wearing shorts, some members wearing fancy ties and some members wearing sneakers.

So far, I have visited Acton-Boxborough, Athol-Orange, Auburn, Billerica, Chelmsford, Charles River, Dedham, Fitchburg East, Hudson, Leominster, Littleton, Maynard, Milford, Montachusett Area, Neponset Valley, Newton, Southbridge, Sturbridge, Tyngsboro-Dunstable, Uxbridge, Wachusett Area, Waltham, Wellesley, Weston & Wayland and Worcester. I am almost at the halfway point with only 26 more to go.

This week I will be making six visits: Ayer, Groton-Pepperell, Merrimack Valley, Needham, Shrewsbury and Westborough.

The clubs I have visited all have membership as their top priority - and many are doing something about it. We netted a gain of six members in July. Congratulations! The membership trend is going in the right direction.

I consider every club committee chair to be a member of the corresponding district committee. Therefore, I encourage the attendance of the club committee chairs at their respective district committee meetings.

With that being said, we have a district Membership Committee meeting on Tuesday, August 11. I encourage all club Membership Committee chairs to attend. If you plan to attend, please click here and register.

In closing, it was recently my pleasure to present the Governor's Chair to 2013-2014 Governor Doug Detweiler (shown seated. Also shown, left to right, are: 2014-2015 Governor Val Callahan, 2017-2018 Governor Karin Gaffney, and 2016-2017 Co-Governors Pat and Skip Doyle.)

Thank you for being part of a great organization and for being a Gift to the World. We will have a great year!
