Service projects help Rotary clubs promote themselves, engage their members, and attract new members. They also let Rotarians involve their family and friends to participate in Rotary, and to increase collaborative efforts with other community-service groups in the area.
In District 7910, we have a couple of examples of these types of service projects:
Sleep In Heavenly Peace is a national organization that looks for sponsorship and volunteers to build beds for kids who don't have one. Currently, Rotary clubs in Concord, Groton-Pepperell and Littleton are partnering on this project. To learn more about this project, click here.
The Rotary Room, at the Chelsea regional office of the state Department of Children and Families, has been created by the Rotary clubs of Chelmsford, Lowell, Tewskbury and Westford. The purpose is to store items needed by traumatized children in an emergency situation. To learn more about this project, click here.
