Nominating Calls: Deadline For Applicants Is This February 1

By Carol Toomey

As you know, District 7910's Nominating Committee met in November and selected the District Governor Nominee-Designate (Steve Sager), two Trustees of the District Funds (David Frazier and Paul Gauvin) and the District Archivist (Cheryl Rosen). We still have some positions to fill and are seeking qualified applicants to serve in these district positions starting this July 1. You must be available for an interview in person this March 2 and have served as president of a Rotary Club to qualify for the following four positions: Treasurer; Sergeant at Arms; and two Trustees of the District Charitable Foundation.

All applications are due no later than this February 1.

Form 7910T should be used for all these positions. In addition, you should read carefully the Nomination Form Supplement.

We will be interviewing candidates in person on March 2. Applications must be received no later than February 1. All completed applications should be e-mailed to me, as chair of the District Nominating Committee, at carolrotary@aol.com.

I caution you that Rotary does not tolerate campaigning or even the hint of campaigning for a position. So it is advisable to refrain from telling anyone that you have submitted an application for the respective position.

It is an exciting time for our District as we bring new people into leadership positions. The future of Rotary depends on qualified candidates serving the District in leadership positions. Filling the District positions with qualified Rotarians is critical to our success.

Please look at past assistant governors and past presidents who may be happy to again serve our District. Your participation in this process to bring new people into District leadership positions is appreciated.

If you have questions about the responsibilities of any of these positions, you should check the District Resolutions. You may also ask me, as chair of the Nominating Committee, for additional information. Please note that any hint of campaigning for a position will immediately disqualify you for that or any other District position.
Again, please read the Nomination Form Supplement.

Filling the District positions with qualified Rotarians is critical to our success, so:
  •       If you are interested, please fill out the proper form.
  •       If you are not interested, please nominate a club member who would make a great District leader.
Remember, forms need to be submitted by February 1 and all candidates must be present for live interviews on March 2.

Your participation in this process to bring new people into District leadership positions is appreciated.
