Governor's  Message: Membership the one common concern of every club

By Jim Fusco

What beautiful weather we have had and it looks like we have another great week coming. Last week, I visited Fitchburg, Franklin and Westford, so I now only have Bedford, Concord Lunch and Westwood to go.

Membership continues to be the one common concern of every club I have visited. Satya Mitra and his Membership Committee are determined to something about it. Our annual Membership Forum and Dinner will be held on October 14 and I encourage every president, president-elect and Membership Committee chair to attend. Remember that membership is everyone’s responsibility, so I also encourage other members of your club to attend. Not only will Past District Governor Art MacQueen of Daytona Beach, Florida be our keynote speaker, but we will also have roundtable discussions on several membership topics that will focus on attraction, retention and other tools such as corporate membership, that will enhance your membership skills. Click here, to register early for this important event.

Fellowship Golf: Our final District 7910 Fellowship Golf Match was held last Friday, September 18 at Moonosnock Country Club in Leominster. We had a great time and three Rotary Clubs were represented. Unfortunately, there were no “Holes in One” on this final match.

Nominations for District Leadership Positions: Don’t forget that nominations are due by this October 15. If you or someone in your club is interested in being considered for a District Leadership position, please get your nomination forms submitted to Nomination Committee Chair Carol Toomey at carolrotary@aol.com.

2015-2015 District Directory: Copies have now been delivered to most of the club presidents and district leaders. If you have not received your latest District
Directory, please let me know. The Directory is now posted on the district website (member login is required). To access it, click here.

D7910 Planning Worksheet 2015-2016: Many club presidents have told me that they are now using the “D-7910 Planning Worksheet 2015-2016” to track progress. Thank you! I encourage all presidents to do the same. Reporting monthly to your clubs on their Planning Worksheet progress is instrumental to having a great yearThe Planning
Worksheet can be downloaded from the District website. To do so, click here.

Keep up the great work in bringing new members! Thank you for being part of a great organization and for being a "Gift to the World."
We will have a great year!
