District on right track to very successful year

By Pat and Skip Doyle

With 12 Club visits completed, we are now feeling comfortable with our schedule and feel as if we could go on like this for the rest of the year. We have been welcomed so warmly by all the clubs we have visited. As we explain our message, we see many heads nodding in agreement. This gives us much hope that the District is on the right track to a very successful year. We are looking forward to completing our visits and then having the time to revisit many of the Clubs as events are held throughout the year.

Last Tuesday evening marked the initial meeting of the Membership Committee led by Satya Mitra (see photo, below). Nineteen people attended from across the District. This year, four identical Membership Workshops will be held to replace the annual Membership Forum. These workshops will be held in four parts of the District on October 24, 25, and 26. Details will follow in upcoming newsletters. The Membership Committee hopes that this will make it easier for all Rotarians to attend a workshop closer to their homes.

One more reminder: Mark your calendars for the 2017 District Conference next April 28, 29 and 30 in Providence.  We are 90-percent sure we will be hosting Waterfire that Friday evening along the Blackstone Canal in downtown Providence.

Always remember, you can call us with questions at 508-393-9031.
