Governor's Message

Another great week for visits

By Jim Fusco
It has been another great week for visits. What great clubs and Rotarians we have!  I have now visited 31 of our 51 clubs - and each and every visit is truly a “gift.”

I have visited Acton-Boxborough, Athol-Orange, Auburn, Ayer, Billerica, Chelmsford, Charles River, Dedham, Fitchburg East, Groton-Pepperell, Hudson, Leominster, Littleton, Maynard, Merrimack Valley, Milford, Montachusett Area, Needham, Neponset Valley, Newton, Shrewsbury, Southbridge, Sturbridge, Tyngsboro-Dunstable, Uxbridge, Wachusett Area, Waltham, Wellesley, Westborough, Weston & Wayland and Worcester.

This week, I will be making five visits: Brookline, Concord Sunrise, Framingham, Lowell and Southborough. My pace has not slowed down because my sneakers have worn out, but instead because so many clubs meet on the same day at the same time. After this week my only visits will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays - and my final visit will be on September 29.

I still have plenty to do because this Tuesday I will be attending the District Membership Committee meeting. Remember that I consider every club chair to be a member of the corresponding district committee. Therefore, I encourage all club Membership Committee chairs to attend the Membership Committee meeting this Tuesday, August 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Boxborough. If you are attending, please register on the District website.

On Saturday, August 15, my wife, Karen Fusco, and I will be attending the Spirit of Hudson. We are looking forward to seeing you there. Unfortunately, I am unable to compete in the Westborough Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, August 16.

We are a team, so please try to support the events sponsored by your fellow clubs. Look at the Club Events section of this newsletter to see details of these events.

On a final note, many clubs have asked about the dues structure for Rotary International and District 7910. District Treasurer Lee Ouellette reports in this Newsletter to explain just that.

Keep up the great work in bringing new members! Thank you for being part of a great organization and for being a Gift to the World.

We will have a great year!
