Join the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley as it hosts its third annual Power of Change event and honors Budget Buddies. The event is sponsored by Nancy's Airfield Cafe and Minute Man Air Field.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, although contributions to Budget Buddies will be welcomed. The snow date is January 26.
Nashoba Valley Rotary is honoring Budget Buddies for its commitment to helping low-income women in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire become economically self-sufficient. The presentation will include remarks from Executive Director and Co-Founder Anita Saville and a past program participant.
Budget Buddies seeks to give low-income women greater control over their financial futures through a robust six-month program that combines instructional workshops with one-to-one mentoring by volunteer coaches. In its first six years. Budget Buddies has partnered with 19 social-service agencies to deliver 35 programs and has trained more than 275 coaches to serve nearly 400 low-income women.
“We want to recognize the important work that Budget Buddies is doing to empower women financially and connect this award-winning organization with additional community contacts who can help them as they grow,” states Nashoba Valley Rotarian Karin Gaffney.
A coffee-and-dessert reception will follow the program.
