Votes are in from the ice skating poll! We will be going to the BU Rink from 8:00 - 9:00pm on Friday. It is in Walter Brown Arena, located in the Case Center at 285 Babcock Street. We will all meet there at 8:00 pm this Friday 2/9, instead of meeting on Wednesday at our regular time! Admission is free for FitRec members, and $5 for non-FitRec members. Skate rentals cost $5 (cash and credit only). We cannot wait to see you all there!
Mentorship Meeting: One Can Help
For this month’s mentorship meeting, we welcomed Anne Bader-Martin, the founder One Can Help! As a juvenile court attorney, Anne wanted to help low income families in a way that guarantees our donations go directly to the need. One Can Help seeks to improve, instead of enable, people by providing the critical resources underserved children and families need to build better futures. By fundraising, this organization offers attorneys and social workers the money they need to address matters that come up while working with their clients. We’re looking forward to supporting One Can Help through fundraising efforts!
Anne invited us to the “Celebrating Changing Lives Benefit” at the Windsor Club in Newton on Thursday, May 10thfrom 6:30-9:00PM. If interested, RSVP here
Service Project: Cradles to Crayons
After Anne's presentation, members worked together to create fleece tie blankets that will be brought as donations for our upcoming service project.
Join us this Friday, February 9th, from 1:30-3:30 for our service project at Cradles to Crayons! This organization collects, packs and donates necessary items for infants and children in need. Volunteers will meet and work with other groups in the area to sort, clean and pack items that will be donated. Contact Jennast@bu.edu to sign up!
