Visioning is a process that helps clubs by providing a vision for the future of the club and beginnings of a written plan that promotes consensus, consistency and continuity.  It allows club members the opportunity to dream about what their club could become; and helps to renew everyone’s commitment to focus on what they can do to make the club even better than it already is.  The overall goals of Visioning are as follows:  sustain and increase membership, implement successful service projects, support the Rotary Foundation, and develop leaders in the club and beyond

The process begins by having a Visioning Presentation done at a regular club meeting to ensure that everyone understands what it is and agrees to have it.  Then there needs to be a vote by the Club Board of Directors who sign a contract and commit to the process.  The contract and a check for $100 (to cover supplies) is sent to the Visioning Chair.

Then, a mutually agreed upon date will be determined by the club and the Visioning Team, and the Visioning Session will be scheduled. The club is responsible for finding the location and making the arrangements for food, etc… the program runs from 5:00pm-9:00 pm. After the session, the club will leave with a new sense of what the focus of the club should be based on feedback from its members. Feedback we have received from other clubs in the District stated that Visioning generated a great dialogue between the members and that they enjoyed thinking “outside the box” regarding what the club has “always done in the past”.

Now that you have learned a little more about visioning, we have great news for you!  We will be holding a training session on Saturday, September 16th from 8:00 am-12:00pm, and we welcome you to join us and consider being part of the Facilitation team. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to travel to various clubs in the district who want to go through the visioning process; and you can pick which session is convenient for you as you do not have to attend all of them.

Registration and Continental Breakfast starts at 7:30 am.  Training starts at 8:00 am and will end by 12:00 pm; the cost is $10.00.  We ask that you please register in advance for the training so we can plan accordingly for the materials and hand-outs  Click Here to register.

Hope to see you there!
