Brazil Trip

Each year a group from Rotary District 7910 travels to a third world country in Central or South America.  The trip is all planned in advance and coordinated locally with Rotarians.  The purpose is to work for a week on a humanitarian project of their choosing.  We have worked on schools, athletic facilities, an orphanage, a cultural/therapy for disabled young adults and, most recently in remote clinics in Brazil.

This year was trip number 13 to our ninth different country.  We purchased and brought ocular camera equipment with us and tested individuals in poverty areas for glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

Following are several pictures from the trip that will describe the trip:

Photo #1 shows Dayse Sena of the Brookline Club utilizing the camera to view the back of the eye and send the data to the hospital for analysis.
