Natick Secures First District Grant Approval of 2017-2018 Season

The Rotary Club of Natick successfully secured the first district grant approval of the 2017-2018 season. Maybe your club can take on a similar project? Let us know if we can help.

This district grant will support the work of the Natick Opioid Task Force (NOTF), a community based advocacy group with one program known as “Hidden in Plain Sight” which helps educate parents about where and how their kids could be hiding drugs. Their main goal is education and awareness of opioids, leading to prevention.

The $1,500 district grant will support NOTF throughout the year. Natick Rotarians spent many hours working on banners, signs, pamphlets and purchasing items for a display of “Hidden in Plain Sight” at last weekend’s Natick Days. For the event, Natick Rotarians made grilled cheese sandwiches and tater tots. All the money raised will go to support the NOTF. According to Immediate Past President, Vinny Tingley, “We are passionate about eliminating Opioid use in our town and well as every town.”
Natick Days draws more than 7,000 people to its annual event each September. It is a day of fun, eating and learning about the different groups, organizations and businesses in the town such as schools, sports clubs, and local charities.
