District 7910 Conference

May 16-18 2014

Come celebrate all that you have accomplished during the 2013-2014 Rotary year at our annual District 7910 Conference which will be held at the Holiday Inn Boxborough. Conference chair Lindsay Dean, of the Acton-Boxborough Club and her conference committee are planning a full weekend of activities which will begin with the Paul Harris Dinner Friday evening.

Past District Governor Bob Palmateer and his spouse Sherrin will represent Rotary International President Ron Burton at our conference. Bob and Sherrin are from District 7080, Ontario Canada. PDG Palmateer will bring greetings from Ron Burton and speak to us during the Friday and Saturday evening programs.

Saturday we will “Engage Rotarians” in a Stop Hunger Now food packaging event where we plan to package 20,000 meals. We’re asking the 52 clubs in our district to contribute to the cost of the event in lieu of an ad in the conference program book. Each meal costs 25 cents— so for $250 you can pay for 1000 meals. If you’re interested in contributing, please contact Jim McFarlin, a member of the Rotary Club of Acton-Boxborough, who is heading the SHN fundraising. jameswmcfarlin@gmail.com

As part of our focus on hunger, we’re asking each Rotarian to bring to Conference a recycling bag of food items and personal products, including those hotel samplers you get when you travel. Click here for a list of suggested items. They will be donated to local food banks.

The House of Friendship will be a lively place with interesting displays manned by Rotarians who are eager to tell you about their Club’s local or international service project, the District’s youth programs, visioning, or ways to increase your club’s membership.

Hank Phillippi Ryan, an award winning investigative reporter and author of The Wrong Girl, will entertain us Saturday evening. Hospitality Sweets will round out Friday and Saturday evening's festivities.
