Razia Jan, Duxbury Rotarian, CNN Hero, Founder of Razia’s Ray of Hope and the Rotary Club of Concord are hosting  at the Nashoba  Brooks School in Concord and the event is FREE

This is a special opportunity to invite a non-Rotarian to a free event to be inspired by how 1 person in Rotary truly can change the lives of so many people. Her foundation is inviting 700 community members from the Concord area to the Nashoba Brooks event. This is a perfect chance to showcase Rotary to folks who may not be familiar with our amazing work.

If you want to share this information with others in our District, I have attached  the final press release and flier for the event at Nashoba Brooks School on October 28th and the flier for the event in Wellesley on October 29th. I believe this represents an opportunity to promote “membership”, keeping in mind the recent “brainstorming” that revealed how meaningful it can be to bring a prospective new member to hear and see what Rotary does (versus just attending a weekly meeting). Therefore, I have copied some of the folks on the membership committee if they want to share this event with membership chairs and other district membership committee members.

The event, an exclusive sneak preview of the work-in-progress documentary What Tomorrow Brings, will feature live Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Beth Murphy of Principle Pictures and humanitarian Razia Jan of Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation, a 501C3 based in Wellesley, MA which founded and operates a school for young girls in Afghanistann called the Zabuli Education Center. Her nonprofit foundation has just broken ground on the first-ever college for women in rural Afghanistan, which is sited next to the Zabuli Education Center. The presentation will highlight Razia’s work and feature excerpts from the film. Razia Jan, a longtime Rotarian, is truly an inspiring example of how one person can change the lives of so many in need.

I was fortunate to see this presentation at the recent Zone training – this presentation was the opening plenary session for the Zone event. It’s definitely worth attending – she is inspiring and amazing! No one will regret attending one of these presentations!
